Scooter Safety

Mobility Scooters are a fantastic tool for seniors to reclaim their independence and ensure that they are able to take full advantage of everything that their communities have to offer. In order to keep scooter life as positive as possible scooter safety is essential.  Working towards making Mobility Scooter ownership and use as safe and convenient as possible is the HERVEY BAY SAFE SCOOTER COMMITTEE.

The Committee is made up of representatives from many aspects of the community concerned with Mobility Scooter Safety and meets once a month to discuss current and ongoing relevant issues and come up with real solutions.  The committee takes action by working to inform and educate Scooter users as well as the community at large, running programs to assist seniors with scooter choice and usage and consulting with state and local government on issues ranging from sidewalk conditions to Mobility Scooter Legislation.

The committee also organises the Mobility Scooter/Wheelchair Convoy held in September and attempts to break the Australian Record and has previously held the World Record for the longest convoy of Mobility Scooter Riders.
